Mr. Powell, for himself, introduces 

 

A bill to increase the federal minimum wage. 

 

Section 1. Title

1) This bill shall be known as the “Minimum Wage Act of 2016”

 

Section 2. Minimum Wage Increase 

1) Upon passage federal minimum wage is set at $8.50 per hour.

2) Each year up to 5 years after passage the federal minimum wage will increase by the following:

a) Minimum Wage will be set at $10.00 in 2017

b) Minimum Wage will be set at $11.50 in 2018

c) Minimum Wage will be set at $13.00 in 2019

d)  Minimum Wage will be set at $14.00 in 2020

e) Minimum Wage will be set at $15.00 in 2021

 

Section 3. Enactment 

1) This bill shall be enacted upon passage.
