Mr. President,

For the second time, the Senate will consider the President’s nominee to be the next Attorney General—America’s lawyer. For the second time, the Senate will apply a fair and reasonable test of the nominee’s qualifications to such high office.

I am hopeful that Mr. Crafts will do a wonderful job today.

Mr. Crafts @Dogslife, do you have an opening statement?

Do you believe that federal law preempts state law, unless otherwise prescribed by Congress or the Constitution?

Mr. President,

I’d like to thank Mr. Crafts for his being here, and the President for sending us someone who is—I believe—a well-qualified nominee.

If there ain’t no more questions, I move to proceed to a vote on the nomination.

I yield.
