Washington, DC – Sen. Kyle Fitzgerald (R-WV) spoke to the press after introducing the Keystone XL Pipeline Authorization Act.

“Joe Biden’s executive order to stop construction of the Keystone Pipeline has left permanent economic damage to the communities in the path of the pipeline that were enjoying the jobs and economic growth that came with it. However, it’s not just these communities that were impacted. All of America suffered when Biden shut down that pipeline. Since then, gas prices have soared as our energy supply has been constricted. It’s time to start building the Keystone Pipeline again, and that’s why I introduced the Keystone XL Pipeline Authorization Act. This bill reauthorizes the construction of this critical pipeline. It will create jobs, lower fuel prices, and secure America’s energy supply. The Keystone Pipeline really is a no brainer. Pipelines are the safest way to transport fuel, and this project was supported by many of America’s top labor unions because of the good-paying jobs that come with it. The only reason Biden shut down this pipeline was to score political points. It’s time to put people over politics and start building this pipeline again.”
