For Immediate Release

Rep. Kyle Fitzgerald (R-WV) announced his support for a $15 minimum wage at a campaign rally.

“I just got back from Capitol Hill, where I voted to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Now that we’re moving out of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s time to get America back to work. We have a labor shortage in this country right now. By raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, we can entice people to return to the work force. Raising the minimum wage will also benefit those already in the work force. A study showed that raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour would benefit more than 250,000 workers in this state – more than a third of West Virginia’s entire workforce. With the COVID-19 pandemic becoming a thing of the past, this is the perfect time to increase the minimum wage. 63% of West Virginians supported a $15 minimum wage in a recent poll. I think West Virginia should have a Senator that agrees with the people of our state on this issue.”
