Administrators Bruce Posted January 3 Administrators Share Posted January 3 Players are encouraged to create Political Consultant multis to assist with political campaigns. The consultant character receives money to his or her warchest in exchange for their services, and provides distinct bonuses to campaigns. When creating a new consultant character, you may choose one bonus from the list for free. Additional bonuses are awarded using custom traits (https://www.globalpoliticssim.com/trait-nominations/) 10% more effective rallies 10% more effective ads 10% cheaper ads 10% higher fundraiser results 10% higher starting affinity with any single demographic group (Nationalist, Evangelical, etc) Bonus to starting polls in any state Each campaign may only have one consultant hired at a time. Generally, the fee would be paid when hiring the consultant and is not refunded if the consultant is fired. Political consultants have the authority to submit schedules, manage the warchest, and act of a public spokesperson for the campaign for which they have been hired. While the system is primarily designed for players to control campaigns of NPC candidates, player-controlled candidates are also permitted to hire a consultant (including their own multi). To officially hire a consultant for a campaign, both the consultant and the candidate should post confirmation as a reply to this thread.

Steven Andrews
Jeff Young has been hired by Marco Rubio. Payment will be: $5 million up front. 10% of all fundraiser income between now and the Presidential filing deadline, to be invoiced at that time. Nope, you're good so long as the price being charged to your own character is the average price (or lower) of what you're charging other characters you don't control. Steven Andrews
Diaz hires Young for $2.0m [I think that's close enough to the average, and I'm going to plead that two of the races Young took on were essentially pro bono while Diaz should make this back in one round of mid-sessions]. Edit: Also, he just pulled a rabbit out of his hat in Ohio... Marco Rubio's chief of staff wishes to clarify that the 2nd payment is contingent on the candidate rehiring you at the filing deadline for the duration of the campaign. This means that if Rubio does not wish to retain your services, the second payment would not be due. Additionally, this would come with the expectation that this would be the sole Presidential campaign you are consulting for. This may already be implied, but they'd like to clarify since it's this far out from the 2024 election. Is this acceptable?

Acceptable and acceptable provided that if my services are not retained for the campaign (or I'm otherwise replaced), I'm a free agent thereafter. If Rubio wants to hire somebody else at that point, that's fine, but I'm not committing to getting sidelined if my services aren't retained.
