SML Pinnacle's Cabinet Debacle

By Owen Pierce

Memo leaked by a senior Senate staffer show's that Senate Majority Leader not giving floor time for the nominations of President-elect Tillman's choice's for top Cabinet positions. The nominees for Secretary of the Treasury, Defense, Interior, and Attorney General are currently slated to be held up by the Majority Leader unless the White House agrees to sign his slate of legislation first. The Senator Pinnacle's failure to bring the President-elect's nominee's to the floor brings into question the Senate's responsibility to confirm the duly elected President's choices for key departments.

This is especially concerning with the current climate around the world. When reached for comment incoming Chief of Staff Declan James. "Senator Pinnacle is playing politics with a volatile situation in Turkey," James also went on to say "Pinnacle's legislation for nomination agenda is a threat to our national interests."

Sentinel.com also reached out to Senator Connor Jamison's office by email for comment on the Senate Majority Leaders proposition and they replied "The obstruction by the Majority Leader is dangerous and leaves our Armed Forces and our diplomats without the necessary support systems or key decision makers."

Far Right Dominates French Presidential Election

By Lucien Gaumont

In the first round of voting in 2017 Presidential Election in France. When polls were closed and counted France Arise (DLF) candidate Michel Le Blanc held 41% of the vote, while his closest opponent, National Front's Jean-Paul Argent held 37% of the vote. Le Blanc and Argent decisively beat out center right Republicans candidate Georges Lafayette who garnered 19% while far right Independent candidate Norbert Daniau coming in last with 3%. Forward!'s Edouard Genevard-Cousteau was forced to drop out of the race with a tragic accident, which cased the party to fracture and fail to nominate another candidate.

As the top vote-getter's Le Blanc and Argent now face a head to head race for the presidency. As they are both Far Right candidate's it is unclear how left wing and moderate elements in the country will vote. Both candidates have pledged to hold a referendum on France's membership in the European Union, a move that will surely hurt their standing in some parts of the country.

As the campaign continues and the citizens of France make their decision as to who will lead them going forward. One thing is for sure, France won't be the same as it once was.
