(1/-) For 1, the electoral college is undemocratic and it was also founded because of slavery.

(2/2) 2, Florida republicans cheated. They didn't count every vote. They illegally purged thousands of voters from voting rolls. Bush lost the election, but ended up in the White House because him and his party cheated.

With a Presidential election coming, we need to wait until afterwards to deal with #SCOTUS. Let the American people decide!

Didn't the american people already vote for Obama? And they voted him for the full 4 year term, right? So they already decided who they wanted to fill it. Your logic is flawed, senator.

This is a recent issue not present in 2012. An election happens this year. Let the American people, whose opinion is not static, decide on this recent issue this year.

Ok, so screw everyone who voted in for Obama, and while you're at it screw the constitution too. Got it. The american people aren't stupid, they knew this could have happened, they knew a president is supposed to be able to nominate a justice and they still voted for Obama, they wanted this seat to be filled by him.

Coming from the party of anti-2A and hate speech laws, “screw the constitution” accusations don’t mean much.

Here we have it folks. The republicans at this point aren't even denying that they're saying screw obama voters (who were 51.1% of the population) and screw the constitution.

Democrats: *Get elected to senate to pass laws. Tries to get a debate and vote on the laws*

Republicans: Hey now buster, what do you think you're doing?

Democrats: Our jobs?

Republicans: Nice try. We won't let you pass bills that do things like making gerrymandering illegal, then how would we win elections?

Since coming back from recess, Senate Republicans have already passed legislation honoring our vets and promoting American manufacturing.

Yes its good that Democrats lead the way in honoring vets.

(We sponsored and motioned for the bill to get passed)

Not to be political or anything but it looks like every senate republican is going to vote to keep gerrymandering while every senate democrat is voting to abolish it.

The republicans are fine with continuing to cheat if it means they win. You should remember this come November.

Sleepy eyes says to vote for his party to get out of a "swamp of corrupt politics." That's rich, coming from the party that takes bribes in exchange for favors. #Tomblin #Blagojevich

I’m not hearing a denial of anything I said. No denial that you’re voting to keep cheating.

Also our entire democratic caucus called for him to resign or be expelled. So get your facts straight.

“Representatives...shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of Persons”

-Article 1 Clause 3, US Constitution.

Forgive me for thinking house districts should be decided based on population.

Yes, districts are apportioned by population. In order to satisfy that requirement and still protect rural voices, districts must be drawn carefully to ensure that rural voters have their say. This isn't rocket science and attempts to distract from this point are telling.

Section 3, Subsection c, clause 2, sub clause a:

A State may consider other criteria...The permissible criteria under this subsection may include any of the following: Respect for communities of interest. Such communities of interest may be based on factors including shared cultural or historical characteristics or economic interests.”

Rural areas fall under this. Rural areas are protected by this bill.

Don’t you hate it when you’re so deep in partisanship that you vote against making revenge porn a crime and giving sexual assault survivors more rights just to prove a point @realperrydriscoll
