Each quarter, characters will receive a dividend payment of 3% the stock price. The stock price and character portfolio on the final day of the quarter (the final day of March, June, September, and December) are considered for dividend payment regardless of how long the character has owned the stock. Those players unable to buy or sell stocks due to special security clearance will still earn their dividend payments for the stocks they hold.
